This First Aid Course in Sydney by INT International Nurse Training will provide you with the knowledge and skills to manage emergency first aid situations, including treating an unconscious casualty, performing CPR and controlling bleeding. HLTAID003 Provide First Aid is the standard course required for employment in many industries and job roles.

Our First Aid Courses in Sydney are mandatory for those working in security, childcare and education, aged care and disability and for roles including Workplace First Aiders and for Continuing Professional Development for Nursing.

Course Location and Timings

St Mary’s campus every Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm for the practical sessions.

Structure

This is one of the most effective and acclaimed First Aid Courses in Sydney that follow a mixed-mode delivery procedure. This means you need to complete a pre-course quiz prior to attending a 1-day practical session. The workbook and quiz must be completed prior to attending the practical session. You must come to the campus prior to the course day and complete the quiz, or we can send it to you electronically.

Pre-requisites

You must complete the quiz and series of associated questions prior to the practical training day while taking the First Aid Courses in Sydney. Do not skip components of the workbook; you must read each section and complete all activities, as this is important fundamental learning. If you have not completed the theory quiz prior to the practical training day, you will not be able to participate. The workbook and quiz will take between 4-8 hours to complete depending on your skill level, and will take you a long way towards successful completion of this Sydney First Aid Curriculum.

Award

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the Unit of Competency HLTAID003 Provide First Aid. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends you refresh your CPR annually and your full qualification at least every three years. Assessment Requirement

The assessment included in our First Aid Courses in Sydney comprises both theory and practical exercises on successful completion; participants will receive a nationally approved statement of attainments for the following.

Performance Evidence

Candidates must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role.

There must be evidence that the candidate pursuing this first aid curriculum in Sydney has completed the following tasks in line with state/territory regulations, first aid codes of practice, Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and workplace procedures:

 

Followed DRSABCD in line with ARC Guidelines, Including:

  • Performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions and ventilations) on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
  • Performed at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles, both compressions and ventilations) on an infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface
  • Responded appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
  • Managed the unconscious breathing casualty
  • Followed single rescue procedure, including the demonstration of a rotation of operators with minimal interruptions to compressions
  • Followed the prompts of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Applied first aid procedures in general

FAQ

Is your First Aid Course Recognised by the Govt.?

Yes, our HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Course is Govt. recognised, and it has replaced the earlier HLTFA311A Apply First Aid and the older Senior First Aid. As any other first aid training course, it is administered and overseen by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

How many students will be taking lessons in a session?

We always try our best to keep the number of students at minimal, so that adequate personal attention can be provided to individuals.

You have to be at least 14 years old to attain the course.
